Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Tauca – Huchuy Qosqo – Lamay – Cusco
We depart from Cusco early in the morning and travel by private transportation to the Tauca community (approx. 3,800 m / 12,467 ft), where the hike begins.
The trail ascends gradually for about 1.5 hours to reach the highest point of the trek at 4,428 m / 14,528 ft, offering stunning views of the Andean mountains. From here, we follow an original Inca trail with a scenic descent toward the archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo.
Along the way, we enjoy impressive landscapes and learn about the history and significance of the region. Upon arrival at Huchuy Qosqo, our guide provides a guided tour of the site, explaining its importance during the Inca period and its strategic location overlooking the Sacred Valley.
After the visit, we continue descending toward Lamay, located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where our transportation will be waiting to return us to Cusco, arriving in the late afternoon.
